Theresa began dancing at the age of 2. She trained in all genres of dance & gymnastics and was on a competitive dance team from ages 4-18. She was a member of the All Star Team and Jersey Girls All Star Dance Team and was co-captain for the 2012-2013 season. In 2013, Theresa won first place and overall highest score for her ballet solo. She also trained at New Jersey Ballet throughout most of her college years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Deaf Studies from The College of New Jersey and has hopes of going into graduate school for her Doctorate of Audiology Degree in 2019. One of Theresa’s biggest joys is to see the smiles on the faces of her students after accomplishing something they have worked hard toward in any style of dance.
Laura started dancing at the age of five and was trained near Princeton New Jersey under the RAD’s dance educational program until she was eighteen. She graduated from Montclair State University in 2013 with her degree in Dance and Theatre. Since graduating Laura has taught dance, theatre, and vocal lessons all over New Jersey and Pennsylvania at different studios and conservatories. She has been choreographing for competition teams in south jersey since 2015 with some of her strongest genres being tap and jazz among many others. Laura still pursues her dance education and regularly takes classes and workshops in Princeton, New York and Philly. She has intensely studied the methods and teachings of Bob Fosse, Cecchetti , Martha Graham, and Royal Academy of Dance. Laura performs and choreographs with local artists from all over the tri-state area. For the past five years she has been performing with Odd Act’s Improv troupe. In the spring of 2017 she started her own Improv comedy group who is set to perform all over New Jersey and Philadelphia. Laura is so excited to be teaching at Flair Dance Academy and looks forward to sharing her love for dance with everyone at the studio!

We train dancers to one day become a dance teacher, while instilling in them the importance of responsibility, gaining social skills and leadership qualities. Our Assistant Program not only extends your dancers training to another level, but helps shape them for their future endeavors in more ways than one, no matter what their career goals are.
Having many years in the industry, she has been able to share her knowledge of dance with thousands of dancers in the tri-state area. Her choreography has won numerous first place and overall awards at both regional and national dance competitions. Amanda is grateful every day that her passion has become her career and recently began volunteering at local senior centers to share her love of dance in every aspect that she can.

As for her journey in becoming an entrepreneur, Amanda began in 2010 when she created her own dance company Urban Flair, which was a dance agency that provided professionally trained dancers for functions and events. At the age of 16, Amanda taught dance classes at local studios and continued to do so throughout her professional career. She has been a teacher and choreographer for children, adults and professionals for over 15 years.
Nanako began her ballet training in Japan at Geiutsuza Ballet Studio 'Jardin des Arts' where she performed such roles as Clara in Nutcracker, Rose Adagio in The Sleeping Beauty and the title role in Cinderella. In 2005 she was selected to attend the prestigious Royal Ballet Summer School. In 2006 she was accepted to Elmhurst School for Dance in association with Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2006 and trained with Don Tolj, Elizabeth Rae, Samira Saidi and other staff.
She has performed for his Royal Highness Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall in Elmhurst productions and for the grand re-opening of Birmingham's town hall. In 2009 Nanako joined on National Tour with Birmingham Royal Ballet and graduated from Elmhurst having received the National Diploma in Professional Dance and successfully gained distinction in Royal Academy of Dance. She has also performed with Boca Ballet cast as peasant pas de trois, leading willis in Giselle and soloist in La Bayadere. During a trip to United Kingdom in 2011 Nanako was invited to participate in Elmhurst Outreach project entitled Tale of Beatrix Potter.
In addition to this she was also invited to lead the audition classes for the launch of the Elmhurst Associate programme in Manchester, Sunderland and Plymouth. Nanako joined New Tampa Dance Theatre as artist in residence in 2011. She was a guest artist for world renowned choreographer Christopher Fleming performances in February and his ballet Gaspar a Pirate Fantasy in January 2012. In August 2013 she joined the American Repertory Ballet in NJ where she is currently a principal dancer.
Matt Steffanina began dancing at age 18 in a small town in Virginia. Influenced by Michael Jackson, Usher & Chris Brown his style of hip hop quickly caught on throughout the east coast. He made the move to Los Angeles in 2010 and landed his first professional job dancing on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'. Since then his credits have grown to included Taylor Swift, The Ellen Show, So You Think You Can Dance, The Amazing Race, Radio Disney Awards, American Music Awards, Snoop Dogg, Chris Brown and more. Matt has taught in over 25 countries and his classes are sold out weeks in advance. He is also a headlining faculty member of The Pulse, and has the largest online dance channels in the world with over 7 Million YouTube subscribers & 1 BILLION views.
Courtney is a graduate of Rider University with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance with minors in General Business Studies and Sales Management. Her training started at a very young age under the watchful eye of her mother, Patricia. Over the years, Courtney studied intensely in ballet, pointe, partnering, jazz, contemporary, musical theater & lyrical. In addition to her mother, her teachers have included Nancy Bielski, Douglas Martin, Mary Barton, Erika Mero, Micheal Mindlin and Geoffrey Doig-Marx. She performed nationally with some of her favorite venues being The Forum in LA, The Oracle in Oakland and The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. She's performed at RAW Artists in Philadelphia and is a company member with Introspective Movement Project under the direction of Sonia James Pennington. Courtney can be seen teaching and hosting workshops throughout New Jersey as well as judging regional and national dance competitions across the nation. She is thrilled to be working with all of the wonderful students Flair!
Amanda Grace is a professional choreographer, coach, dancer and host. She was the Director of the NJ Devils Dancers (NHL) where she choreographed all routines, trained and managed the team. She was also seen at Devils home games as the In-Game Host at the Prudential Center Arena in Newark NJ, where she narrated fun trivia games and exciting entertainment in between action on the ice. Amanda was regularly featured on NJD TV as the Director of the Dance team and the commercial spokeswoman.
Formerly a NY Knicks City Dancer (NBA), Amanda started blending her passion for dance and sports in 2007 when she became a member of the NJ Ironmen Dance Team (MISL) in their inaugural year at the Prudential Center. In that same year she also danced for the NY Titans (NLL) at Madison Square Garden. Amanda then went on to coach and choreograph for the Somerset Patriots Dance Team (Atlantic League of Professional Baseball) and was also asked to choreograph and perform in the NY Knicks City Dancers 20th Anniversary Alumni Performance at Madison Square Garden with Rob Base.
Aside from her extensive experience in major league sports team dancing, Amanda choreographed musicals at Plays In The Park theater in Edison NJ ("Grease", "Xanadu" and "Bye Bye Birdie"). The Asbury Park Press reviewed Amanda as "the star of the show" for her high energy, entertaining choreography in "Grease" in 2012. Amanda was also hired as the choreographer for St. John's University's theater department where she staged "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee". You can see her most recent work in "Newsies" this May 2019 at the Cranford Dramatic Club.
Dana began her professional dance career by representing the NBA in NYC as a Knicks City Dancer. She went on to dance with recording artist Kat Deluna on her world promo tour. Dana then relocated to Los Angeles to pursue her career on the west coast.
Rachel is a professional gymnastics coach that has been teaching and coaching gymnastics for over 20 years. Throughout her award winning career she has coached over 750 gymnasts in over 200 competitions.
Besides teaching nearly 100 students at Flair each year, she is the Head Gymnastics Coach at the Somerset County YMCA for over 75 boys and girls within 8 different competitive levels and another 150 recreational level gymnasts.
She has led many gymnasts and teams to victory in both regional and national competitions, claiming 1st place all-around in the YMCA State Competitions over 10 times. Many of Rachel’s star gymnasts also dance at Flair. Rachel feels very strongly that adding acro into a dancer’s weekly schedule ensures that they become stronger, more flexible and overall enhances their ability to perform in other sports such as dancing, wrestling, cheerleading and football.
Rachel has been a gymnast for over 30 years and was awarded the prestigious SCIAA Scholar Athlete award. Rachel has all of her safety certifications through USA gymnastics, completed Rutgers Coach Training for Cheer, Pop Warner Coach Training and has extensive training for athletic/sports injuries, including CPR/AED and first aid training. A former certified nurses aid, Rachel is a Hillsborough resident who spending quality time with her family. She is thrilled to be teaching her 7th year of Acro at Flair!
Dawn has been teaching dance for the last eighteen years to dancers ranging from the age of 2 to 82. She has taught classes all over New Jersey at studios and various pre-schools. Dawn started taking dance classes at the age of 4 and hasn’t stopped dancing since. She graduated from The Somerset Vocational Performing Arts Program and continued her training at University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Dawn graduated with her BFA in dance from Montclair State University in 2000. Upon graduating she continued studying dance in New York City, Philadelphia and New Jersey where she also danced professionally with local modern companies. In addition to teaching dance, she is a certified kid’s yoga instructor. She also has been a coach and director of cheer in Pop Warner and other competitive cheerleading programs. Dawn is excited to be a part of the Flair family again!
Most recently, she choreographed and performed on Bravo TV's Watch What Happens Live and The Real Housewives of NJ. She has worked with artists like Tyga and Wiz Khalifa and has just returned from a tour in China, where she performed, danced in a national commercial, choreographed and taught workshops. Dana was also recently cast as a dancer for a national Lexus commercial. She also assists choreographer Matt Steffanina (her fiance) at his weekly LA classes at IDA Hollywood and Millennium Dance Complex. She is featured in countless videos with Matt, some that have reached well over a million views on YouTube and have been posted by celebrities like Will.I.Am, Justin Bieber and Chris Brown. She was also on and won the Amazing Race with Matt!
Dana and Matt's YouTube videos have millions and millions of hits. Most recently their "Wiggle" video just hit 6 million! They also won Ryan Seacrest's choreographer challenge and was featured on MTV as Ariana Grande's choreographer pick!

Alex started dance and gymnastics when she was three. She also was a part of a drama club, where she was featured in lead roles in musicals. She then joined a competitive cheer team for five years where she was simultaneously cheering for two different levels. In 2009, her team won first place at Nationals in Oregon.
Alex was also part of the Jr. SeaGals program performing at halftime during the Seattle Seahawks games for four years. There, she was noticed by the Director of the SeaGals and was asked to be on live TV to discuss the program. The Director also asked her to attend the taping of the New Day Morning Show on the local Fox station to not only speak about the program but also to perform. She went on to assisting tryouts and auditions while with the organization.
During her time with cheer teams, Alex was an assistant coach for the mini competitive squad where she helped lead the team, taught routines and trained the cheerleaders. After moving from Seattle to NJ, she decided to make dance her main focus and with hard work and determination, put everything she had into becoming a better dancer.
She has been assisted Amanda Grace for three years in Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop and also assists Rachel and Leah in Acrobatics classes, which she choreographs for Flair's recital. She also has assisted Miss Amanda in choreographing for major league sports teams in NYC. Alex is thrilled to be a part of the Flair Family and is eager to extend her passion of dance and gymnastics to her students.
Gabriella has had a passion for dance since starting at the age of 2. Dancing competitively and taking master classes throughout the nation has inspired her and influenced her creativity. She knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue dance as a career.
Gabriella attended Broadway Dance Center in New York City, studied dance at Rider University here in New Jersey and graduated from American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in Los Angeles. During this time she had the opportunity to work with many amazing choreographers and teachers.
Since moving back to the East coast, Gabriella has taught locally while auditioning and continuing to take classes in New York. She was a dancer with “Kelly Donovan and Dancers” performing in New York City. This summer Gabriella was a dancer at California’s Great America Theme Park in their show “Hot Rhythm Nights”. She looks forward to working with all of the students at Flair!
Caliana began dancing at the age of three and has studied dance for the past fifteen years. She has been competing for the past ten years and has worked closely with amazing choreographers such as Marinda Davis, Ade Obayami, David Gamboa and Arianna Crowder of SYTYCD to name a few. She has also won scholarships at dance conventions such as NYCDA and The Pulse.
Cali is a proud member of SAG/AFTRA and has been in many commercials as well as appearances on Saturday Night Live and One Life to Live. She is also currently a model and was chosen to walk for multiple designers at New York Fashion Week. Cali has a passion for teaching and is excited to work with all of her students here at Flair. She looks forward to sharing her love of dance with everyone!
Natalie began her dance training at the age of 7 at her local dance studio. Over the years, she has trained in the styles of Hip-Hop, Lyrical, Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, Contortion and much more. As her years of being a competition dancer went by, she began to realize that dance was more than just a hobby but a passion that she would like to pursue as a career. Taking her training to the next level, she joined a nationally ranked competition team that gave her the opportunity to compete across the east coast and to work with some of the top professionals in the industry. Natalie has also had the opportunity to dance half time for the Harlem Globe Trotters and has been featured in the Wycleff Jean music video, “Kiss the Sky”, ft. The Knocks. She has trained with Jake Kodish, Kyle Hanagami, Mia Michaels, Ade Obayomi, Hamilton Evans, Matt Steffanina and many more. Since graduating, Natalie enjoys taking dance classes in NYC and is continuously inspired as both a dancer and teacher. She is so excited to be choreographing and teaching here at Flair and looks forward to sharing her love for dance with all of her students!
2 Ilene Ct., Unit 14 Hillsborough, NJ
Leah has been competing and coaching gymnastics for over 25 years. She began gymnastics at the age of three and competed at both the regional and national levels for over 14 years. In her prime, she won 1st place All-Around at states beating nearly two dozen other gymnasts on the balance beam, vault, uneven bars and floor. She coaches alongside her sister, Rachel, both here at Flair and at the Somerset County YMCA.
She assists in coaching nearly 250 gymnasts at the YMCA and nearly 100 dancers at Flair. She has specialized training in preschool gymnastics and you can clearly see her shine as she teaches students the fundamentals of acrobatics. Leah has completed the USA Gymnastics Safety Certification as well as CPR/AED and first aid training. Leah believes that being exposed to acro helps a child overall increase their strength, coordination and even self-esteem. Leah is proud to be working with the other very talented instructors and amazing dancers at Flair. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son and her husband.
